York Museums Trust: infographics with international reach
When the Curator Battle campaign went global, York Museums Trust needed its reach and impact captured in a form people could actually take in. We designed the infographics - and were commissioned again for further work and the annual brochure.
The client
York Museums Trust runs four of Yorkshire’s best-loved cultural venues - York Castle Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, York Art Gallery and York St Mary’s. During lockdown, their #CuratorBattle campaign went unexpectedly, gloriously viral, reaching audiences around the world.
The brief
A viral moment produces a mountain of numbers - reach, engagement, coverage, audiences across continents. The Trust needed those numbers turned into something people could take in at a glance: infographics that carried the story of the campaign’s impact to stakeholders and the public alike.
What we did
We designed a set of infographics capturing the Curator Battle’s reach, impact and global engagement - pairing clear data visualisation with illustration that kept the campaign’s playful character intact. The work had to be accurate enough for reporting and charming enough to share.
The result
The Trust was delighted with how the infographics engaged their audiences - and came back to commission further infographic work and graphics for their annual brochure. Repeat business from a major cultural institution is the result we’re proudest of.
Following the success of our Curator Battle campaign visuals with vision26, we were delighted with how Jack and his team's infographics engaged our audiences. That led us to commission further infographic work and graphics for our annual brochure.
