Case study - Product + app build

Lane: a native macOS app, designed and built end to end

Our own product, and the clearest proof of how we work. Lane is a native macOS app for running AI coding agents in parallel - product design, brand, landing page and the app itself, all from one studio, coded, notarized and live.

The product

Lane is a native macOS app for orchestrating AI coding agents - running multiple agents in parallel, each in its own lane, so developers can delegate more and context-switch less. It’s a fast-moving product space, and Lane was built to feel properly native: quick, focused and at home on the Mac.

Why it matters

Most designers hand over mockups and hope. Lane is the counter-example: the same studio took it from first sketch to a notarized app people can download today. Product thinking, interface design, brand identity, marketing site and the production code - no handoffs, nothing lost in translation.

What we did

Everything. Product strategy and interface design for a genuinely new kind of tool. A brand and landing page that explain a technical product in plain language. And the app itself: built natively for macOS, notarized for distribution, and released.

Designing and building the same product keeps quality honest - every design decision had to survive contact with real code, and every technical constraint fed back into a better design.

The result

A live product at orbit-2026.netlify.app - and a working demonstration of what “designed, built and live” means. If we can take our own product from idea to notarized macOS app, your website or web app is well within range.
